What campaign world is next? Someone has to know! Tell me!

Do we know when they are going to annouce it?

Not gonna take that bet.

However, my guess is that the campaign world will be a new one. Perhaps one of the finalists from the competition that produced Eberron.

Gencon is where it will be anounced.

But yes, we are getting Gamma World and the Nentir Vale Gazeteer.

From the older settings, nothing really jumps out at me. Maybe something oriental? If they did, say, greyhawk, they would really need to put a twist on it, maybe make it feel more retro or classic somehow.

WotC is going to try hard to not repeat the mistakes of the past and have Campaign settings cannibalize each others audiences. So far, FR is very different in feel from Eberron which are very different from DS. The next campaign setting will also have to be fairly different.

What with the popularity of modern-day magic stuff (Dresden Files, etc), perhaps something set in modern times?

Urban Arcana for a 4E version of d20 Modern.

Don't know offhand how they would incorporate Urban Arcana into the generic "Points of Light" framework.
