Star Wars: Anyone planning to support the new SAGA edition with fanmade material?

Just a random thought on this blustery Wednesday. Many games out there have fanbases that support their games, sometimes far better than the parent company can or does. For instance, the Hall of Fire webzine for the LOTR RPG and Warpstone for the WFRP.

I was thinking that the new release of the Star Wars SAGA edition would make for a perfect launch point for new fans to provide game content for gamers.

Anyone out there thinking of supporting the new edition, either informally or in a more coherent webzine or related fashion?

SWRPG is indeed an excellent site but there haven't been new submissions added to the database in ages.

Likely because there hasn't been much to add in ages. The D20 RCRB was the last new ruleset, and aside from minis, D20 suppliments have been sparse. That aside, there's only so much apochrypha that you can convert until you start running out of interesting material.

A new ruleset, especially one with as many changes as the SAGA previews suggest would wipe the slate clean... All those previous conversions would have to be re-converted. SWRPG is the place I would expect to see them.

Well, the submissions section has been languishing for quite some time, but there are fan supplements that have been created and are being worked on. Probably the most ambitious of these is the Clone Wars fan sourcebooks found at http://fandom.swnsu.com, but there's also the Sith Academy netbook (http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/29946267/) amongst others, as well as various projects that are in progress.

As for Saga Edition, it's too soon to tell. Right now all the signs look good for what the system will become, and there's bound to be some revamping of existing fan material once the SECR has been released to the masses.

Which may also be why there doesn't seem to be a whole lot of material right now, as we're waiting with baited breath to see what Saga Edition changes compared to the RCR that we're all fairly comfortable with. After all, why devote hours and weeks and even months of work at this point to something that would need to be revamped anyways in a few months?

I do. I have been writing to some of the more prolific contributors to the Star Wars threads on the WotC boards for material for Knowledge Arcana magazine. Issue 8 (the current one) has some Star Wars material, but it's minis-related. Issue 9 is slated to have Star Wars material, and I'm working now on issues 10 and 11. Issue 10 is water themed, and 11 is urban themed. I'd ilke to get some Mon Calamari articles, or something cool for the water issue. The urban theme is almost too easy given Coruscant--so I'd like to see something else.

Anyway, KA (which is official WotC), is going to support it.

My friends and I have been working on a series of adventures that we call Rise of the Rebellion, set between Episodes 3 and 4, for use at Gen Con and local gamedays. Although they're written for the RCR, we plan to revise them once Saga is released.
