I want a good science fantasy setting that I can customize that is 5e compatible.

If I understand it correctly, this is NOT a science fantasy game, but a sci-fi one. It isn't the LevelUp version of Starfinder.

Just to be clear here, these two books are not a standalone game unto themselves, right? You need something else to make a complete RPG?

They've talked about it before, this is a standalone game that is compatible with A5e, but otherwise does not require anything else (unless I am mistaken).

Yes, except without any fantasy elements like magic (I haven't played Starfinder so if they also don't have magic, my bad). Strictly science fiction.

I don't think that's true. You need the core LU books I think.

No, they’re an expansion for A5E or 5E. You need some core rules.

This is sci-fi. But it is 100% compatible with the fantasy material in the core rules so you can mix and match as you like. Wizards on starships, whatever you like
