Okay, one last deity. This is The Wrathful Storm. It took quite a bit of work to get to a picture I was more or less satisfied with. Even then, I think this would have to be a starting point for a human to get "exactly" right. One thing that the generator added that wasn't in the prompt was the fiery swords, which is, I'll admit, a nice touch. A lot of earlier versions were rather anachronistically modern-looking. The way she's gripping the sword in her left hand is... well. Also the hair is supposed to be crackling with embers and sparks, which some of the earlier images do better.

This is part of the same batch. I like the swords and grip the best, but she's a little too unclothed for my taste.

Thumbnails below are some older versions, including one that's obviously anachronistic.

(Also - unadorned feet!)
What is your 100 characters or less description of her?

Trying again with Laurana. Altered the prompt as so: Ageless delicate refined young elf woman with long honey-coloured hair down to her wrists. She stands with her arms at her sides. Her skin is smooth and woodland brown. She has full, pouting lips and large liquid eyes that change color like leaves in flickering sunshine. Background is a flowery forest glade.

Added "small-eared" after a few tries produced giant ears. Some would be NSFW if they were more zoomed out, but I figure they're still OK for posting here as they are. Some I think are pretty decent, but Larry Elmore's depictions of Laurana will always be how I picture her.

This is obviously when the companions first meet her in Qualinesti, not after she's become a battle-hardened general.

Interestingly, I'd say that the first one on the bottom row is the only one that got the "woodland brown skin color" and is probably thus more accurate even than Larry Elmore's art, which always depicts her with pale skin.

Carmon is kinda Basic Barbarian, so probably not too challenging. Tanis may be harder.
Working on Tanis right now ...

EDIT: OK, and get this - the one time I want a beard, it doesn't give me one!

I particularly like the third one. And I think this outfit looks better than the Native American-inspired outfits that Larry Elmore has depicted him in.

I'll try again after adding "beard" to the prompt.

OK, I have clearly gone mad with power, but I think I may have condensed all Howardian Swords & Sorcery character and themes down tonthwir essence:

hugely muscular barbarian warrior shopping for avocados, face deep in thought as he ponders the fleeting nature of life the avocados symbolize, busy medieval market, high quality digital painting

Legend
Tanis Half-Elven take 2: A small-eared red-haired bearded muscled graceful half-elven man. The man wears a green cloak and soft leathers tooled with elven designs. He has a longbow slung over one shoulder and a longsword strapped to his belt. He strides confidently up a dirt road with the sun behind him. Wide shot. Oil on canvas.

Decent. Not quite what I'm after. No bow, for instance, and his sword seems to have been split up so the hilt is on one side and the sheathed blade on the other. Also the sun is off to the side.

Aside from that monstrosity of a bow and the lack of a sword, this is really almost perfect! The sun is even behind him!

Bwaahahahahahahahahahaa!!!!! 🤣 🤣 🤣

I note that "wide shot" still doesn't necessarily give me feet, just more leg.

The final prompt, after a few tries:
A wizard in his twenties, wearing brown robes, inscribes a circle of magical symbols on the stone floor while reading from a tome of occult lore. Watching him is his imp companion, a tiny demon with bat-like wings and needle-sharp teeth. High resolution fantasy digital art.

Two different images from that prompt:

wizard 2.jpeg

And some thumbnails of older versions using earlier iterations of the prompt, including two that were watercolours. (Mentioning that the imp was about the size of the cat led to... interesting results, and describing the wizard as "young" resulted in a child.)
