I decided to run 3 sessions of Shadowdark at Carnage on the Mountain in Killington VT the October. I run games there every year, and I always do a "con campaign" -- that is, linked adventures that folks can play one, some or all of. This is what I came up with for this year: ---------- A generation ago, heroes gathered the Triarch Crowns from the brows of the long buried Three Empresses in order to defeat the Dark Usurper. Those heroes kept the crowns as souvenirs, and now the unquiet Empresses demand their return or else! You have been recruited by the Cult of the Triarch to steal the crowns and return them to the Empresses’ tombs. Session 1: The Crown of Wrath The Crown of Wrath is one of three independent but linked adventures. Can your party steal the Crown from Ambrose the Bold’s trophy room and then return it to the deadly tomb of Mav the Merciless? Session 2: The Crown of Night The Crown of the Night is one of three independent but linked adventures. Can your party lift the Crown from the very head of Balthazar the Blighted in his sanitarium and deliver it back to the tomb of Lara Starsighted in the Realm Above-Below? Session 3 The Crown of Thorns The Crown of Thorns is one of three independent but linked adventures. Can your party recover the Crown from the vault of Caleb Darkseer and bring it to the Bramble Labyrinth where Empress Rose restless lies?--------- The groups will have to do a short adventure to get the crown, then a second short dungeon crawl to return it. The dungeons will be heavy on theme.
