Unsatisfied with the cold iron and precious gems the mines there already produced, Herekda drove ever deeper into the heart of the mountain and there, according to legend, something consumed him. This article introduces thematic exploration challenges, magic items, and monster variants that can be used together or individually in your games under the mountains. By Marc Kenobi</p><p></p><p><strong>Tertiary Casters</strong></p><p>One does not need a lot of magic to get an edge from it. While many adventurers choose to specialize in the use of magic, others merely dabble—and find that even their limited spell knowledge gives them some useful capabilities. This article presents three archetypes for just such characters and a basis for similar casters. By Peter N Martin</p><p></p><p><strong>Life of a Combatant</strong></p><p>For some, fighting is life. There are those that grow up constantly embroiled in combat, whether in street fights or on the battlefield.
