Wizards Goes Big with Vecna: Eve of Ruin

I strongly disagree here. I read a loton ENWorld and don't always want to take the comment. But the rationality on this site FAR FAR outweighs most corners of the internet unless youre in a curated Discord. ANd compared to social media? There is no place on social media in any fandom that is...

Wizards Goes Big with Vecna: Eve of Ruin

Its not that. Nobody working on these books has any knowledge of settings. And it shows. That's the thing. They fired Mike Mearls, and then quietly moved him off of D&D Development before that because people on Twitter were upset for nothing. If youre going to do a Dragonlance adventure...

D&D (2024) Greyhawk Confirmed. Tell Me Why.

PLanets are big. I have no problem envisioning some of these people never meeting, especially when underground or on mountain tops. Adventurers come in contact with them. In no way do I find the fact there could be monster settlements or civilization that humans don't know about surprising...

Which also all branch of the Aldmer. I have extended it further to the Aldmer being the PRIMAL ELVES that complete Elves and MordenkainenToF refer to. Emigrators due to Corellon's disappointment and he's not even in generational memory anymore.

D&D (2024) Greyhawk Confirmed. Tell Me Why.

No. its simply if you are running a classic D&D campaign world that is anthrocentric it is extremely unlikely monster races could function as an adventuring group that needs to interact with wider society. A MOS EISLEY game is the assumption that all these sentient races are integrated...

D&D (2024) Greyhawk Confirmed. Tell Me Why.

THe Mos Eisley is meant as a Tavern analog. WHo would be in Water deep. I am a curator. Like I put museums to shame. I do not Curate the Monster Manual. They all have their societies, but even in Forgotten Realms at least in my game, Humans are now the primary society. So in SIgil, Mos...

D&D (2024) Greyhawk Confirmed. Tell Me Why.

I have no shame admitting I am a snob for this sort of thing. Lore is the most important thing to me because that's just me. I am well aware its not everyone's primary. But I like to discuss it and there are really not as many places as ENWORLD to do so.

Its not wrong but I carefully Curate my games. Its not hard. The only races I have come around to are the Plane touched and Genasi, and Kzinti Race type. When I'm playing fantasy genre I don't like the Mos Eisley panoply.

I bought the Dark Sun set on release, and I remember the planar assumption being it was cut off. This was further reinforced in the early novels. So your definitley correct about that assumption in the rules.

ITs probably 100% a business decision. If WOTC Owned DDB at the time I would say it definitely was. Just FYI I bought Artificer alone off of DDB and I can still access it. Not that anybody asked. But I don't have anything elese from the eberron book.

D&D (2024) Greyhawk Confirmed. Tell Me Why.

The crazy quirky is not my flavor at all but much to my chagrin EVERY group I have run has that one player that prefers it. Many of my friends prefer quirky over my stuffiness mud sticking and the differences in the games we run are very different. Those differences have been there for the...

D&D (2024) Greyhawk Confirmed. Tell Me Why.

So I bought Fantasy Age and the Dragon Age new Core rules (hah 'new' 2018). Within they have an entire section on management of playstyles. I don't need that section one bit, and yes I would prefer other content be there, but I do notice the questions on alot of forums by noobs. I read it in...

D&D (2024) Greyhawk Confirmed. Tell Me Why.

I 100% wish they would make something new. I am very jaded as to what happened with the Spellplague and the 4e friction. I have no problem letting the older things lay where they are. I would rather have a new audience play with their new toy then change what came before to suit them. That's...

D&D (2024) Greyhawk Confirmed. Tell Me Why.

Same pretty much. Its easy though. I allow Planetouched and Corrupted (Not inherently evil races) like Duergar and Drow. I've always allowed some form of Tabaxi. I allowed Gith in my planescape/realms campaign and 1 player used it. I'm willing to run games with 'furry' races but when I do...

D&D (2024) Greyhawk Confirmed. Tell Me Why.

But this is the exact argument people defending inherently evil monsters use. It's just so arbitrary. Nobody has been able to show orcs represent any real culture. This is why people call the "racist if using inherently evil things" a very long stretch.

D&D (2024) Deborah Ann Woll and Matt Mercer consulted on the 2024 DMG.

This is 100% the same for me. I've tried to watch Critical Role for DMing techniques.. but that was a mistake. I'm not at all convinced they don't discuss what is going to happen before the production. Streaming is performance, and I cab't imagine sitting through it. I've turned in to some...

D&D 5E Long time players and 5e’s success

I had a relatively younger girl come to my game to play. She only lasted a few sessions, but it is because I don't just let players do whatever they want. It basically boiled down to her character a rogue trying to do to many things. She wasn't stealing the spotlight per se, but she didn't...
