My take is a bit more cynical. They chose Greyhawk because it was already available. They didn't have to pay anyone to create anything new. Just add some polish and release an old product like it was brand new. As for us geezer gamers, we've got more disposable income than younger generation...

I like the guys in my group. We've been playing for about 8 years now. Sometimes the pace of the game gets slow, and one player spends way too much time roleplaying (IMO), which takes away from combat and exploration.

It's a light read, and not his most creative work, but I don't think it was bad. However, if you don't like his writing style, then you probably shouldn't bother.

Like I said in another thread, consumers have very high expectations for games like this now. The likelihood of it being as successful as BG3 is low. Furthermore, with all of these developers, the game may be built "by committee". Having too many cooks often spoils the broth.

My guess is that they'll move the microtransactions to the VTT. Having the option to dress up your 3D token will be very appealing to many people.

Yes, I've seen this on other forums where a "senior" member starts a confrontation with a newbie, the newbie responds in kind, and gets banned or blocked despite the fact that it was the senior member who initiated the confrontation.

We typically hand wave the issue with a bag of holding, as long as it doesn't get ridiculous. So, if hauling out a quantity of gold (or an over sized item) would break of not fit into a BoH, the players have to specify how they'll get the treasure out of the dungeon.

I'm in favor of randomness. It adds variety, and may create new conditions that you have to work through, and provide a challenge.

Yes they sell, but it seems like people have been dissatisfied with recent offerings. Scrapping the VTT would allow them to redirect funds for hiring more creatives. IMHO, after the "gee whiz" factor dies down, people will move to other VTT's that offer more flexibility, and cost less.
