The Ethics of Two Way Ignore

Sometimes it is, sometimes it isn't. I've got about five people blocking me; sometimes I remember why, sometimes I don't, sometimes I'm a little sorry they felt the need, sometimes I figure "no big loss". But I don't think its unreasonable for Morrus or the mods to figure when someone has had...

The "I Didn't Comment in Another Thread" Thread

Especially since sometimes over time it becomes clear that it is their actual opinion, and when not, they sometimes think repeated use of the same hyperbole is appropriate.

Dunno, but I've seen it a fair bit (even been the culprit a bit). Though I'm not sure sarcasm and hyperbole are always the same thing; I've seen people use hyperbole on here with an apparent straight face.

The Ethics of Two Way Ignore

The problem here is this assumes the moderation views the situation the same as the person doing the blocking, and if they don't, the person doing so is just out of luck. That's probably a very, very aggressively bad approach.

RPG Systems that allow for characters of diverse levels of Power

Though when this comes up, I always note that even the folks who did the Justice League Unlimited animated show had a couple cheats they frequently did here: 1. They'd sort a lot of the weaker characters so you really almost never saw characters like The Question and Green Lantern on screen at...

RPG Systems that allow for characters of diverse levels of Power

And that's kind of crucial if you don't want to have to tightly manage it. To expand on my prior post a bit, Scion 1e was set up so that the success/potency gap between ranks of attributes got larger and larger as you got up the scale of Epic Attributes; Epic Attribute 1 added one autosuccess...

What keeps uninterested players showing up each session?

There can be issues when the styles mean the players are pulling things in opposite directions, or when what someone is all about is the thing another person finds terminally boring or annoying. Its a real problem when there's more than one of both.

What keeps uninterested players showing up each session?

I'd feel good about the first and last, but were I honest, the middle is sometimes difficult.

RPG Systems that allow for characters of diverse levels of Power

My experience with running Scion 1e supports this. I was able to run my campaign of it at Demigod only because both I and my players essentially walked on eggshells about picking which opponents on which spheres they'd each go up against. On the other hand the combination of compression of...

RPG Systems that allow for characters of diverse levels of Power

Yeah, I think you need to distinguish between "allows it" and "makes it workable".

What criticisms do you have for current or previously used systems?

Yeah, at the least you ought to do "insert game does X in a Y way, and that just doesn't work for me".

What keeps uninterested players showing up each session?

There can be all kinds of reasons, but the easiest is they're good in some ways even if they sometimes drift off.

What criticisms do you have for current or previously used systems?

Yeah, I think there's a difference between "This particular game does X, because it wanted X for a particular purpose, and I don't like that" and "This particular game does Y, and seems to not have any idea what the implications of Y in play is". Both can be legitimate complaints on a personal...

What criticisms do you have for current or previously used systems?

I'm trying to decide if there's a point in criticizing a system that's gone through (I believe its at least five) different evolutionary iterations since I played it.

    Spoilers X-Men '97 spoilers

There's something to that, but it tends to be far more severe with the X-Men/mutants than most other groups and origins (though I gather at one point Problems with Aliens became a thing, too).

I've never been up past the Bay Area, so I didn't want to make assumptions about Mexican cuisine culture up there.

When I was younger I felt that way about their purely beef burritos, the ones that were ground beef, some kind of modestly spicy chili sauce, and cheese with nothing else. Haven't had them in decades.

Hey, that's pretty much true in Southern California, too.

The "I Didn't Comment in Another Thread" Thread

I can answer why in many cases: because companies will try to do them in-house, either having which ever is the most capable of said technical personnel do it (which is often a pretty low bar) or some more document-savvy person who may well not understand what the technicals are telling them...
