[+] The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power - SPOILERS ALLOWED

Indeed, though I'm fully expecting that the Northern Numenor border protocol will tie up the negotiations in the season finale.

Ah yes, as we know Rings of Power is going to take a stand on the issue of.... Brexit?

I think you effed up your title.

Re-watched that scene to remember it... but yes, it is better. It's a much more realistic, wise response to the offer of the ring. She mocks the offer a little, almost like how a recovering alcoholic refuses an offer to drink. She knows how terrible a choice it would be to take it, and admits...

Not that I've seen, that CT quote isn't even specifically about Helm's Deep but more generally about the Jackson trilogy's action-film style. I really do think it is an either/or. The definition of fan fiction is "is fictional writing written in an amateur capacity by fans, unauthorized by...

[+] The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power - SPOILERS ALLOWED

I'll use a different example then... The Two Towers, specifically the Battle for Helm's Deep. In the movie, the battle is about 40 minutes long, a significant chunk of the movie. In the book, I think the battle is 4 pages long? Christopher Tolkien said the movie "Eviscerated the book by making...

Spelljammer The Forgotten Realms eats Spelljammer before it even finishes digesting Radiant Citadel!

I wouldn't call multiculteral settings kitchen-sink. The setting of Seven Seas or WFRP are pretty multi-cultural, but they're also not exactly kitchen-sink either as they're pretty well-defined by either genre or tone. Azeroth (Warcraft) certainly is kitchen-sink. It's obviously very popular so...

Spelljammer The Forgotten Realms eats Spelljammer before it even finishes digesting Radiant Citadel!

That's true, if I lived through the Spellplague I'd take the first Spelljammer to... um... actually Exandria seems fairly peaceable, those Mighty Nein did a fair job of stopping anything too bad from happening. EDIT: What am I saying, I'm heading for the Radiant Citadel that place seems safe...

    D&D 5E 5e isn't a Golden Age of D&D Lorewise, it's Silver at best.

Glad to see this ratio-ed the OP so much. Lore is entirely subjective, and novels/metaplot IMO detract from D&D by anchoring lore facts DMs feel they need to remember. Keeping lore more loose and flexible is much more game-able, as D&D should be.

D&D 5E Amazon US book sales rank.

Glad to hear Radiant Citadel is selling well. I was afraid that if the book performed poorly, WotC would get more conservative in developing settings original settings, and tack back to FR or other traditional worlds in response. I believe 5E is the best selling edition of all time, and it's...

Spelljammer The Forgotten Realms eats Spelljammer before it even finishes digesting Radiant Citadel!

Reading this it sounds way more like a lot of FR residents are unhappy with Faerun, and happy to emigrate to literally any other setting... Perhaps Krynn has low housing prices, or maybe taxes in the Sword Coast got too high?

[+] The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power - SPOILERS ALLOWED

On the Sauron thing, I think it's already been said that Sauron is not actually the Eminem-lookin guy, that's someone else, probably a cultist. Some mistranslation or something, but the last character shown in the trailer is played by Bridie Sisson. I want to point out that the stakes of...

[+] The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power - SPOILERS ALLOWED

Others have pointed out why the criticisms of "fan fiction" is bad, but if it IS fan fiction, it's fan fiction that's costing a billion dollars... I think that makes it a little bit more notable than something someone made in their backyard. On a more serious note, it's not fan fiction. Pretty...

    D&D Movie/TV Here's The D&D Movie Trailer!

As much as I agree that the main cast should be attractive (I mean, this is Hollywood OBVIOUSLY they'll be attractive) I'm not sure these examples make me confident in this film! I think I'll just generally say that expecting the stars of ANY big-budget film to be unattractive is just a wild...

[+] The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power - SPOILERS ALLOWED

The big complaint seems to be that there are non-white actors playing elves, dwarves... really anyone. Essentially they are saying Tolkien wrote everyone to be white, so there shouldn't be anyone in the cast as non-white. Which obviously can't fly in the 21st century for a big-budget product...

    D&D Movie/TV Here's The D&D Movie Trailer!

Ok, I'll concede that maybe it's just the image making the guy look like he's got pointed ears. That said, they're certainly going into the Underdark in this movie, so we'll probably get an answer on how the film handles drow and duergar. As others have said, the city is probably Gracklestugh as...

Ever seen an Elf Thayan? They're either changing what Drow are, or they're changing what Red Wizards are. I don't see why they'd have to change the latter, so I'm thinking former.
