    D&D (2024) 75 Feats -- not nearly enough

Good call -- I was looking at the list in Character Origins for this. You're totally right.

    D&D (2024) 75 Feats -- not nearly enough

Of the playtest level 1 feats, Lucky, Magic Initiate, and Alert should all stay competitive, esp. with that adjustment. Of the feats in Tasha's without +1 ASI, Fighting Initiate and Artificer Initiate would fit this group too. Arguably, Eldritch Adept and Poisoner are just fine as they are as...

    D&D (2024) 75 Feats -- not nearly enough

This might be true -- though I think at level 4 and above, if you take a level 1 feat at a higher level you also get +1 ASI, that would change the picture.

    D&D (2024) 75 Feats -- not nearly enough

Exactly this problem was my principal issue with the (playtest 6) Hunter Ranger, which seemed terribly designed. At level 3, choose one of these three options. At level 7, choose one of these three options. At level 11, choose one of the things that you didn't choose at level 3, eight levels...

D&D 5E (IC) Scourge of Daggerford

"Morgan, your enthusiasm will get us all... stories to tell, someday." Tommi smiles and forges ahead. He knows that the phrase that the Daggerford guardsmen would use on misbehaving children ended with the word "killed"; and he remembers how as a boy he would mock those guards. They're probably...

D&D General If you could be any D&D species in real life…

Variant Human. Free feat! (and the feat would be Lucky or Magic Initiate)

Wow. I couldn't disagree more with this. I accept this is your view, and I often learn from what you post. But this really shows me what a diversity of views there are.

D&D General What it means for a race to end up in the PHB, its has huge significance

This is a great post, @EzekielRaiden I'll pull out just a few small things to reinforce. Bad data visualization should always be called out. And here, in half a line, you summarize the appeal of playing non-humans in D&D for me. I want to play goblins and orcs and lizardfolk and all those...

    D&D (2024) 75 Feats -- not nearly enough

Nor am I. Good. True! And the 2014 PHB had feats like that. Good thing that's not what this thread is discussing! True, if by "currently" you re referrning to the 2014 PHB. What about the playtest feats, though, which are the only insight we have about the 2024 PHB? Are there still only a...

    D&D (2024) 75 Feats -- not nearly enough

No, these are not the questions. Based on what we've seen feats will be available to some martial characters without the option of +2 ASI, and every character will get a starting feat without the option of a +2 ASI. Of course that could change, but this framing misses everything that has been...

    A question about Highlander

As to the OP: for me, the Prize is becoming truly part of the world, not existing separate, apart, and above it. As others have said, becoming part of the world brings with it knowledge and undertanding, the ability to procreate, and the ability to achieve a natural death. But all of this...

    A question about Highlander

Kobold Stew's quick guide to Highlander. Highlander. Excellent movie with an amazing original modern mythology that has never been topped. Lightning strikes. 5/5 Highlander II. Curiously, this movie was never made, and there are no records of it, or of its director's cut to be found. 0/5...

"It's agreed," says Tommi, looking at Titus. "We clear it out. Onward." He continues heading down the swarming tunnel.

(IC) Against the Giants PBP Group 2

The Colonel doesn't mind the young ogre summoning more. With their position, they're in good shape, and the Skyfather is with them in the open air. Besides, from where they are, retreat is always possible if they are overwhelmed. So no worries there. He catches himself -- he'd said Skyfather...

    Great if so.

    D&D (2024) 75 Feats -- not nearly enough

For what it's worth, here is a proposed fix to the feat Fighting Initiate, as it appears in Tasha's. Current wording allows you to chose a fighting style, from those available to fighters. My proposal: 1. Keep it as written, but make it a level 4 feat and allow a +1 ASI to STR, DEX, or CON...

    D&D (2024) 75 Feats -- not nearly enough

I count 42 in the PHB, plus 15 in Tasha's, and 15 racial feats in Xanathar's. There might be more in some of the other books, I don't know. So that's 72. Plus, to compare Apples to Apples, we should include the not-really-a-feats-that-we're-now-calling-feats: the ASI, the six PHB fighting...

    D&D (2024) 75 Feats -- not nearly enough

I'm not sure why you think this is the case. Perhaps you haven't read the OP? At level 1 (i.e. what you refer to with "creating a new character", "assistance to go through character creation", "session 0 slog"), there are 10 options we've seen in the playtest materials, 5 possible inclusions...

    D&D (2024) 75 Feats -- not nearly enough

All of these are old problems, right? We've seen what they intend to do with feats in playtest, and had the opportunity to give feedback. None of this is new with the information that we now have a hard number. We can agree that some people won't like the implementation, or think it's not...
