I suspect Umbran's point isn't that this isn't a problem, just that its less "superhero fatigue" than "movie fatigue", at least when looking at the movie end of things. That doesn't mean that it doesn't need to be cut back, but it suggests that all big ticket, expensive-to-produce movies may need to have that done.
Studios have spent the last 3 years getting us used to the idea of having a 70" screen and sound system in our own homes, where we don't have to put up with other people's cell phones, popcorn, and sticky floors. They aren't going to convince us to go back to that easily.

I think there's a degree to which both are so interlinked as to be inseparable. Superhero movies so dominated moviegoing (certainly for big chunk of the sort of 10-50 age group) for the last few years that I think it's inevitable that people becoming disenchanted with superhero movies would blow back on other movies and the movie-going experience in general.

That's not to suggest they're somehow solely responsible - probably not - I think COVID impacted it a lot by forcing people to not go to cinemas or strongly disincentivizing them, which both broke a lot of people out of lifelong movie-going habits (it did for me, for example - I used to go like every 1-2 months at least before that), and also showed a lot of people, that actually, a lot of movies - particularly CGI-heavy ones, were just as good on their TVs and speakers at home. I mean, just speaking personally, difference between say, watching Mad Max Fury Road at the cinema and at home, and the difference between watching Thor: Ragnarok at the cinema and at home was notable. I liked both movies, but Fury Road really suffers without a big screen and a great sound system and the focus of a cinema, where Ragnarok does not. In this way I think Marvel's focus on CGI-based movies helped make the transition to home viewing a lot easier than it would have been otherwise.

The trailer for Madame Web just dropped.

The screenwriters behind this are also behind Dracula Untold, The Last Witch Hunter, Gods of Egypt, Power Rangers, and Morbius...

I have no idea....but the MCU and SW need better stewards or something.....because I'm not loving the last few years for the most part. Liking? Mostly. Loving? No. And I'm not paying money for D+ and to go to their movies......
