Because I don't like some stuff at level 1.
Probably some, probably none. The old polearm mastery or crossbow expert were such feats. Maybe also old GWM or the range equivalent. Maybe you right in your assessment that after the balance pass there is no need anymore.
Yeah. Which seems to really...
I hope they reconsidered how they distinguished between different level feats.
It would be easier if all level 1 feats would also get +1 ASI if you took them at a later level.
Using them that way, they are inherently useless.
If a character becomes nobility during adventuring, will they gain the same benefits as the noble background character, or are they SOL?
If a character with background noble comes to a place where they and their kin are totally unknown and they...
Why is that relevant?
It has nothing to do with Paizo. It is what Black Flag originally promised and how they advertised themselves.
It was the outrage over WotC that lead to ToV/Black Flag. So people expected them to do better.
I don´t think they are greedy and selfish, because their SRD seems...
Probably not. He quoted the part of the Kobold Press Black Flag FAQ with the promise to release the whole game to ORC (at least it sounded like that). So he is really disappointed that Kobold press also held back parts of their system.
But at least they have put out more feats (talents) than...
I have seen a bard with very bad stats doing more damage than the archery optimized ranger if you calculate every damage done due to the inspirational buff towards the bard instead of the ranger. The bard, or any other character built with the same unlocky rolls, could have done more damage...
So many names of spells originate in Greyhawk. Maybe using it as the example setting and at the same time teaching kids about the lore of original d&d is not a bad idea.
Maybe sidebars can be used to tell how the original setting had restrictions that seem old fashioned today, but which can be...
I thought so too. But on a paladin in +1 plate with a +1 shield, we are looking at 22 AC wothout shield of faith and 24 with it. Cast as a bonus action. Since 2014 paladin can't do a lot with their bonus action, shield of faith often proves more useful than a shield spell.
Really?
I did not see that.
Maybe we look at different threads.
Instead I see people who insist that everyone who likes WotC products does not do it because of the quality, but just for the name. Not able to accept that there are people who don't like their game too complex for various reasons.
Really depends. I think the best thing is having a PHB that is simple to use and a book with advanced options. For those players you mention. Cluttering the base book with too many option has the tendency to overload younger and newer players. But YMMV.
