I'm not personally enjoying it too much myself. Part of that is from my favored pieces aren't in play yet though. The other part is likely from my group's growing pains on the system (and I will say, I am in the minority in our group with regards to disliking it).
I hope that it does well, but...
Just to clarify on the first part.
That was in the Planar Sphere, and it wasn't traveling to Athas, but had cannibal halflings in one of the rooms. I don't recall specifically if they're specifically mentioned to be Athasian (they were lacking psionics, which may have just been a limitation)...
Time will tell as it always does. I do want to point out though that we may be seeing the end of digital Dungeon and Dragon with 5th edition as well.
I definitely agree though it has a hopeful feeling to it now. And I do hope it does well even if I end up not liking it more than prior editions.
The name was actually changed to John Carter from Princess of Mars due to some initial focus testing. However, it should be noted that a big thing that hit John Carter in contrast to Prince of Persia was the final set of focus groups just absolutely did not like it, so Disney cut their...
A lot of book vendors ignore release dates on books that aren't Harry Potter. I know when I worked at a book store, we didn't care.

To add about it. I did catch a few RPGs that were going to be stocked before release date, but generally, we just assumed that street date notation was in...
Nahal's was first level, and a big part of how Wild Mages could break the game. Not just because of the at will wild surge, but because it let them use a level 1 spell-slot to potentially cast any spell. The value of Nahal's goes up with each level as that not only increases the different spells...
Honestly, not really. I wish I did because I would love to go over them myself :). Most of what I get can be easily summarized from wikipedia (which I did check against to make sure my memory on other mostly random references to Pythagoreanism were accurate]. I know you can find some...
I would point out that Sacred Geometry is most likely a reference to the Cult of Pythagoras/Pythagoreanism and not simply just geometry as we have with the modern understanding.
That is a neat feat, but I would make sure that a player who wanted to use it knew that I may revoke it if it became disruptive to play (in either terms of power or slowing down combat).
More likely, I'd use the idea behind it for a puzzle.
Something to note with that Pathfinder price at 14.27 is that does not include the 4.75 in shipping fees (third party shipper). Whereas D&D is 14.92 including shipping by Amazon, or 8.07 + 2.80 shipping from a third party Amazon vendor.
Honestly though, we're picking nits on the price at this...
They also are campaigning fairly strongly on the Theatre of the Mind being the default scenario now, so I imagine not including maps/tokens/etc may have been an intentional choice on that route.
I'm not sure how much of an impact it would have, but don't WotC's desires to support the FLGS market run against the idea of doing a subscription base or sell-direct solution? It may well be old thinking, but I can't help but think it could have an impact on WotC's approach.
Just to make sure I'm not missing something.
You can gain a feat by trading in a stat boost (+1 to any stat), some of the feats give you +1 to a specified stat and a minor perk?

I did. Ability Increase is +2 to any stat. or +1 to any two. Definitely makes sense now.
