    Help Set the CR for "Dumb" Dragons

    I posted this on the Wizards boards but I imagine EnWorld gets more traffic (Which is quite a feat when you think about it). I'm in the process of writing up a new campaign for my group. As part of the backstory, just about three thousand years ago there was a great war between the races of...

    0-level Rules Question

    Does anyone know of any good house rules for 0-level characters, or perhaps something like the d20 Modern Backgrounds that could be used to add a little more versatility (but not a lot of power) on to first level characters? Any help would be much appreciated.

    Big Eyes, Small Mouth... Question...

    It certainly is. My original point applied only to the system as written. I have my own solution for it, but the original poster was asking about the system presumably out of the book. Don't misunderstand me, I love the game -- the Vash problem is my one complaint of any significance. In the...

    So they went and butchered the 3.5 ranger...

    We don't :confused: Also, I have no problems with virtual feats. They're neato keen super excellent with me.

    Big Eyes, Small Mouth... Question...

    Which is fine, if that's what you want. However, attempting to create a lightly armored but hard to strike character is where you will run into the problem Vash the Stampede, from Trigun, for example. (Who, it should be noted, routinely is being shot at by dozens of foes at once in the series.)

    So they went and butchered the 3.5 ranger...

    I Don't Get It If you want to strip the Ranger of all flavor, why not simply play a fighter? They can use the bow while wearing Full Plate as normal, and can probably pick up the same feats with their bonuses.

    Big Eyes, Small Mouth... Question...

    Another issue with the game as written, and indeed the only problem that I have with it, is the lack of Armor Class (for lack of a better term.) In BESM, the chance of an attack succeeding is entirely dependant on the character's Attack Combat Value. If the character rolls below the ACV on 2d6...

    Spycraft --> d20 Modern Conversion

    Class Skills This was mostly just a matter of literally transfering the lists over from Spycraft to d20 Modern. There were a couple of skill additions and changes based on the differences. Commando Faceman Fixer Pointman Snoop Wheelman

    Spycraft --> d20 Modern Conversion

    Another issue I'm running into: in Spycraft pretty much everybody starts off at 1st level knowing how to use M-16 assault rifles (Well, okay not the Snoop, but that's beside the point.) I understand why that is, and I understand why d20 Modern doesn't start everybody off as well armed death...

    Spycraft --> d20 Modern Conversion

    Yeah, I've noticed that. In particular the vehicle costs are really really prohibitive. I'm probably going to have them track their personal Wealth, on the off chance that they ever go rogue ;) and end up without the backing of their organization. I like that a lot. Probably going to use it...

    Spycraft --> d20 Modern Conversion

    Okay, what I've got so far. . . Bearing in mind that I can't do tables worth anything in vB code, here's the rough prototypes that I'm working from at the moment. The Wheelman is a mess since I'm not sure whether we want to use the Spycraft or the d20 Modern Vehicle rules. If we do decide to...

    Spycraft --> d20 Modern Conversion

    Okay, so here's the deal. My group is again looking to start up a new espionage / covert-ops game. We have previously played Spycraft and we do enjoy it. However, we have been playing d20 Modern quite a bit lately and have been loving it. So what I have been thinking is that it shouldn't...

    D20 modern worth it?

    Building the better Smart Hero. This is actually one of the things I personally love about d20 Modern is that a strong (high STR stat) Smart hero is likely to be better at melee combat than an average Strong Hero at low-levels. Young Indy vs. Graverobbers from Last Crusade all over the place...

    Paying for game sessions?!?

    NEVAR! It might just be my age / upbringing / inherent cheapness talking but no frickin' way. Not in a million, billion, gajillion years. Of course, I've been playing with largely the same group of people for nearly 13 years now and it's never been an issue. The host (usually me & my...
