Nerdy girls can't fantasize about being wizards? And is not the traditional bare-chested barbarian with pecs for days a nerdy guy fantasy?

The eyes, The glowing wizard eyes, I'm just so tired of every wizard having glowing eyes of power.

Ditto. And what is with the glasses? You have "glowing power wizard eyes" but you need glasses? Must be trying to be stylish.

What spell will she be casting? It looks so... anime-style.

No clue, forget trying to tie the artwork to the game.

Generic powerful caster, too clean, too shiny, give me a bit more grit and realism, not this superhero posing.

I'm surprised they don't have her floating/flying as well.

Well, they have to sell those cards somehow. Two birds, one stone.

I just want to see some D&D characters who are actually wearing their backpacks....

Or at least have them someplace lying around in the background!

It's quite nice BUT I dislike art that isn't possible in the game
If a wizard cannot do what is in the picture then don't use it.

Doesn't appeal to me, either. Not the style, the pose, the lack of context, nothing really. Take the book out of it, and it could be a cleric, sorcerer, or warlock -- not "wizardy" at all IMO.

Don’t like it. It lacks context, tells me nothing of what this character is and can do, other than stand with a giant glowing hemisphere. How does this relate to the world, or adventuring? I don’t see that it does.

It's great art, but it feels like it's from a MtG card instead of a D&D book. Imho I don't like the art style for D&D...

Could be that, too. Ultimately, the visual effect of a spell is up to the player (within reason). I have no problem with a wizard player describing almost any kind of abjuration or barrier spell looking like that.

I see the name of the artist has several MtG cards and other pictures that look similar, but not 100% it is the same artist.
