If you have a special flying ship that can reach the Astral Sea, yes.I like some of it... but are they saying just anyone can 'sail' from one world to the next...

If you have a spaceworthy flying ship, it seems. How you get one of those remains to be seen. The spelljamming helms will certainly return in some form, but as people have pointed out there's a lot more galleon-looking ships in the art now and a lot fewer spindly bug ships. So I expect that too will be seeing some change.I like some of it... but are they saying just anyone can 'sail' from one world to the next...
So long as you have access to the appropriate equipment and/or magic, yes... That's pretty much the core premise.I like some of it... but are they saying just anyone can 'sail' from one world to the next...
And always has been the core premise. All you've ever needed was a ship with a spelljamming helm. Or not even a ship. Any object big enough. So long as you have access to the appropriate equipment and/or magic, yes... That's pretty much the core premise.
Yes, it seems quite different from the AD&D art, but I like it. I'm looking forward to reading the books...Love the art style.
If you don't does your ship just run into a wall? I can't watch the video. Can anyone summarize it?If you have a special flying ship that can reach the Astral Sea, yes.
If you don't, then you're stuck on the planet. They didn't say whether you needed a special helm to make it far enough to reach the Astral Sea, or whether any old flying ship like the ones from Halruua will do.If you don't does your ship just run into a wall? So you just travel with a spelljammer past a certain point in Wildspace and you're in the Astral Sea? So the Material Plane is just part of the Astral Plane now?If you don't, then you're stuck on the planet. Basically wildspace isn't empty. It's like the nebula from Stark Trek: Wrath of Khan, colorful and gaseous. It's also full of creatures like space whales and such. The Astral Sea is the Astral Plane and is the place of stars, so when you're sailing through it you are sailing among the stars.
