I like some of it... but are they saying just anyone can 'sail' from one world to the next...
If you have a spaceworthy flying ship, it seems. How you get one of those remains to be seen. The spelljamming helms will certainly return in some form, but as people have pointed out there's a lot more galleon-looking ships in the art now and a lot fewer spindly bug ships. So I expect that too will be seeing some change.

The Astral Sea replacing the Phlogiston is a good thing, especially for fire-using spellcasters and just about anyone with firearms.

At least it makes it so that it's very clear that "Pirates of Gith" are really just Githyanki.

I hope they have less ships using standard equipment (cannons, ballistae, catapults), and more ships such as Nautiloids and those Neogi Spider Ships using their own unique attacks, as the art makes it look like those ships have "melee attacks".

If you don't does your ship just run into a wall? I can't watch the video. Can anyone summarize it?
If you don't, then you're stuck on the planet. They didn't say whether you needed a special helm to make it far enough to reach the Astral Sea, or whether any old flying ship like the ones from Halruua will do.

Basically wildspace isn't empty. It's like the nebula from Stark Trek: Wrath of Khan, colorful and gaseous. It's also full of creatures like space whales and such. The Astral Sea is the Astral Plane and is the place of stars, so when you're sailing through it you are sailing among the stars.

So you just travel with a spelljammer past a certain point in Wildspace and you're in the Astral Sea? So the Material Plane is just part of the Astral Plane now?

It is not 2E Spelljammer, but it looks close enough. I never liked the Phlogiston, but I loved the concept of the 'Flow' within it. Replacing the Phlogiston with the Astral works for me. I am not sure about the change of Wildspace from the Big Empty to a Space Ocean teeming with life and color. There is a lot of empty out there. I like that feel for my games. All in all, I look forward to Spelljammer's rebirth.
